About

Established in 1896, Volunteers of America of Kentucky is one of the region’s oldest, largest, and most diverse human service organizations. Today, we serve more than 21,000 people a year through 37 distinct social service programs in Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, southern Ohio and southern Indiana. Our services include shelter and transitional housing for families experiencing homeless; residential substance abuse treatment; housing for seniors with low-incomes, people with mental illness, and women with disabilities; eviction prevention; employment-focused programs for veterans; care coordination for people living with HIV; HIV prevention, education, and testing; and neighborhood-based homes for people with developmental disabilities. Each program, regardless of its focus, labors under the shared agency mission to “create positive change in the lives of individuals and communities through a ministry of service.”
